Customizing Your QR Code Design

Adjust colors, shapes, and logos to match your brand.

QR Node offers a range of style options to make your QR codes visually match your brand while staying scannable.

Colors

  • Fill color — the color of the dark modules (dots). Must have sufficient contrast against the background.
  • Background color — the color of the light areas. White or very light colors are safest.

Note: Always keep strong contrast between fill and background. Low-contrast combinations (e.g. dark gray on black) will cause scan failures. Test before printing.

Logo / image overlay

You can embed a logo or icon in the center of your QR code. QR codes have built-in error correction that allows up to ~30% of the code to be obscured. Keep logos small (under 25% of the total QR code area) to ensure reliable scanning.

Error correction level

  • Low (7%) — smallest file size, least redundancy. Use for clean digital-only contexts.
  • Medium (15%) — good balance for general use.
  • Quartile (25%) — recommended when adding a logo.
  • High (30%) — maximum redundancy for environments where the code may get dirty or partially obscured (e.g. outdoor signage).

Tip: After customizing, always test-scan the code before mass printing. Use at least three different devices and apps.
