QR Node is committed to making our platform accessible to everyone

Our Commitment

QR Node is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.

Standards We Follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

Measures Taken

  • Semantic HTML structure throughout all pages
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for body text)
  • Keyboard-navigable interface — all interactive elements are reachable via keyboard
  • ARIA labels on icon-only buttons and interactive elements
  • Focus indicators on all focusable elements
  • Alt text on all meaningful images
  • Responsive design that works at 200% text zoom
  • No content that flashes more than 3 times per second

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas are still being improved:

  • Some older QR code detail pages may still have incomplete ARIA descriptions — we are actively updating these.
  • Uploaded files (PDFs, audio, video) served through File Hosting are not screen-reader or caption optimised by QR Node. Accessibility of hosted content is the responsibility of the uploader.
  • The landing-page builder's drag-and-drop interface currently has limited keyboard support. A fully keyboard-accessible builder is on the roadmap.
  • Some data tables in the analytics dashboard may be difficult to navigate with assistive technology on small screens.
  • Rich-text input fields in landing page and vCard creation forms may not announce formatting changes to all screen readers.

Compatibility

QR Node is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS & iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • High-contrast mode in Windows and macOS
  • Keyboard-only navigation

Tool-Specific Accessibility Notes

The following notes apply to specific tools available on QR Node:

  • QR Codes — generated QR images include descriptive alt text and are downloadable in SVG format, which scales without quality loss for low-vision users who print at large sizes.
  • Shortlinks — all shortlink management screens are fully keyboard-navigable with visible focus indicators.
  • Landing Pages — published landing pages are static, semantically structured HTML pages that work with screen readers. The creation form is keyboard-accessible; drag-and-drop reordering has limited support (see Known Limitations).
  • Digital vCards — vCard public pages use semantic contact markup. The 'Save Contact' (.vcf download) button is keyboard and screen-reader accessible.
  • Link-in-Bio Pages — published link-in-bio pages are accessible static pages. Each link button has descriptive labels.
  • File Hosting — the file upload control supports keyboard activation. Download buttons are labelled with the file name. QR Node does not alter uploaded file content, so the accessibility of a hosted PDF or video is determined by its creator.
