Understanding Scan Analytics
A guide to the analytics dashboard and what each metric means.
Every time someone scans a dynamic QR code, QR Node records data about that scan. This data is visible in the Analytics section of your dashboard.
Key metrics
- Total scans — the total number of times the QR code has been scanned since creation.
- Unique scans — scans from unique devices (estimated by IP + user-agent hash).
- Scans over time — a graph showing scan frequency by day, week, or month.
- Top locations — the countries and cities where most scans originated.
- Device breakdown — mobile vs desktop, and operating system.
- Browser breakdown — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.
Analytics retention by plan
- Free plan — 7 days of history.
- Standard plan — 1 year of history.
- Advanced and Business plans — unlimited history.
Tip: Use the 'scans over time' graph to correlate campaign activities (flyer drops, email blasts, social posts) with scan spikes.
