QR Code Redirecting to Wrong Page

What to do when scanning your QR code takes users to the wrong destination.

If scanning a QR code opens a different page than expected, here are the most common causes and fixes.

Check if the QR code is dynamic or static

Static QR codes encode the destination permanently and cannot be changed. If you need to change the destination, you must create a new QR code. Dynamic QR codes can have their destination updated in the dashboard.

Verify the destination URL in your dashboard

  • Log in and open the QR code from your dashboard.
  • Check the destination URL — it may have been edited accidentally.
  • If the URL is wrong, click 'Edit', correct the URL, and save.

Check the associated shortlink

Dynamic QR codes use shortlinks internally. Go to Shortlinks in your dashboard and find the shortlink associated with this QR code. Verify its destination URL is correct.

Check for team changes

If multiple team members manage QR codes, another user may have updated the destination. Review the change history in the QR code's detail view.

If you cannot identify why the destination changed, contact us immediately — we can check the change log for your account.
